Thank you & Final Steps

Good Evening, CCHC Community,

First, I wanted to thank you all for taking the time to meet with me to explore educational opportunities for your children with CCHC! It is my honor to have founded this association, and my pleasure to know that it has been so warmly received. I am very excited to work with all of you to make this everything we want for the good of our children. And thank you to all of you that reached out to us with donations and your willingness to volunteer your time and expertise! I could not have anticipated such loving support of this brand new endeavor.

As we approach the final weeks of summer, CCHC will be busy finishing with safety improvements to the building, classroom decoration and furnishing a few additional equipment items. The by-laws for our not-for-profit organization have been executed and its articles of incorporation filed with New York State. While we hoped that our incorporation would be completed by this date, we are still waiting on the Division of Corporations to return to us a certification of the filing. In response, I have set up a temporary bank account to handle the organization's funds. I have also linked this bank account directly to the website to facilitate credit or debit card tuition payments and scholarship donations. For any of you that prefer to pay via personal check, please make out checks to Elizabeth Cook in the interim. Once New York State has finalized our incorporation, we will be able to make out checks in the name of our organization. I will let everyone know as soon as it is completed.

In order to plan properly for the upcoming academic year, I am asking those who have not not yet committed to enroll their students to please let us know by September 1st. Commitment entails the completion of the Contact form on the Admissions page as well as the Volunteer Application form on the Collaborate page. In order to protect our legal status as a homeschooling cooperative, we will need to maintain records of parental or tutor designee involvement. It is understood that we will not all have equal availability to volunteer. Our hope is that those who are unavailable during instructional hours might still be able to assist with a tutor designee or volunteer according to the flexible time slots described on the Volunteer Application. We are still looking for pastors that might be available once a month to hold a morning chapel, and members to serve on our Executive Board. We can also pair our current volunteers to parents as their tutor designees. Please let me know if you need that assistance. Tuition payments are due on the first of the month beginning September 1st, and there is an academic calendar on the Admissions page to assist with reminders.

At your convenience, we also request that you either mail, fax or bring with you the completed Member Agreement and Emergency / Medical Information sheet by our first instructional day, Wednesday, September 8th. It is my hope that the open house materials will assist you in setting up your children to homeschool through your public school district.

Lastly, I would like to create and share a common contact list containing your cell phone numbers, emails, townships, and names and grades of your children in order to establish friendships and promote service to one another. If I have your permission to include you and your children, please reply yes to this email.
